Online Verification and Enrolment Exercise
Federal Government Treasury-Funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) - 2026 Retirees
The mandatory Online Verification and Enrolment Exercise for prospective retirees has commenced. Ensure timely completion to avoid delays in processing your retirement benefits.
Ahead of your retirement, you are required to complete the Data Recapture Exercise if you have not already done so. This is compulsory for all Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders before they can access their benefits. To complete this process, you are expected to visit any of our offices closest to you with the following documents:
Stage 1: Data Recapture Exercise
- Letter of First Appointment/Gazette/Attestation (as it applies)
- National Identity Card or Slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), indicating the National Identity Number (NIN) via *346#
- Birth Certificate or Age Declaration
- 1 recent Passport Photograph (White Background)
- Any of – Staff ID Card, International Passport, Driver's License, Permanent Voter's Card (PVC)
- Proof of Address
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
Stage 2: Online Verification Exercise
This stage will be conducted first with your employer, after which the final stage will be at our office. The documents to be presented include:
- Letter of First Appointment/Gazette/Attestation (Police)
- Letter of Introduction
- Record of Service
- Letter of Acceptance of Retirement or Disengagement (for those who retired or disengaged before their enrolment date)
- Copy of Staff ID Card
- Promotion Letter & Payslip as at 30 June 2004 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between 01 July 2004 and December 2006 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between January 2007 and December 2009 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between January 2010 and December 2012 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between January 2013 and December 2015 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between January 2016 and December 2018 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between January 2019 and December 2021 (if applicable)
- Promotion Letter & Payslip between January 2022 and December 2024 (if applicable)
- Last Promotion Letter & Payslip (Current) (if applicable)
- Evidence of Change of Name (if applicable)
- Evidence of Transfer of Service (if applicable)
- Evidence of Acceptance of Transfer of Service (if applicable)
- Evidence of Extension of Service (if applicable)
- Letter from the MDA Introducing the Pension Desk Officer (PDO) (in case of Critical Health Condition)
- Copy of Staff ID Card of the PDO (in case of Critical Health Condition)
- Medical Report (if applicable)
- Letter of confirmation of period of continuous service in the university system (for Professors)
Special Circumstances
For Individuals with Critical Health Conditions
A Pension Desk Officer (PDO) may be introduced by the MDA to complete the process on behalf of the retiree. Required documentation includes:
- Letter from the MDA introducing the PDO
- Copy of Staff Identity Card of the PDO
- Medical Report (if applicable)
For Early Retirement, Disengagement, or Termination
Those who retired, disengaged, or were terminated before the enrolment date must present:
- Letter/Evidence of Retirement or Disengagement (Mandatory, Voluntary, Disengagement, or Termination before enrolment date)
